How far ahead of time can I check the PMP?
There is nothing that discusses how far ahead of time the PMP check can be undertaken, however the reason for the requirement is to ensure that prescribers have as much information as possible in order to make informed decisions about prescribing certain controlled substances. If the PMP check is completed too far ahead of time, then there may be new information in the PMP that the prescriber is not considering.
The PMP is updated on a 24-hour basis and therefore contains information accurate up to 24 hours prior to completion of the check.

How can someone determine if a practitioner has a waiver?
If a physician has a waiver from e-prescribing, it is viewable on their public profile page, under the section entitled “Verified Information.” If you want to verify that a PA or nurse practitioner has a waiver, you will have to look at the delegating physician’s public profile. NOTE: Per the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, a “pharmacist is not responsible for ensuring there is a waiver. In addition, there is no requirement of the pharmacist to ensure an appropriate waiver is granted.”

What is the TMB “Service code” for IdentoGo?
The TMB service code for IdentoGo is only able to be provided directly to licensure applicants or existing licensees. The service code is provided in the detailed instructions that are part of the email renewal notice. If you have not received your email renewal notice, or you would like to complete the fingerprint requirement early, please contact us at Registrations@tmb.state.tx.us and we will provide you with your ID number, and instructions that include the TMB service code.

Why can’t I find the IdentGo TMB “Service code” on the TMB website?
TMB is not legally able to receive fingerprint results for individuals who are not existing applicants or licensees, and is not able to publicly provide the service code. This is why we provide the service code directly to licensees in the detailed instructions that are part of the email renewal notice. If you wish to submit your fingerprints early, please contact us at Registrations@tmb.state.tx.us and request your 6 digit ID number and instructions for your fingerprint submission.
*Please note that completing your fingerprints prior to your renewal period will NOT enable you to renew your license early. Your registration window will only open within 60-90 days of your license expiration date.
