Texas Acupuncture Jurisprudence Examination

All applicants are required to pass the Texas Acupuncture Jurisprudence Examination (JP) in three attempts with a score of 75 or better.  Applicants may schedule their exam after they have submitted their application for licensure, paid the appropriate fees, and have received a scheduling permit from the Board.

Study Materials

A study guide is provided at Acupuncture Jurisprudence Examination Study Guide to assist applicants in preparing for the exam.  Reviewing the law related to acupuncturists contained in Chapter 205 of the Texas Occupations Code (found at Texas Occupations Code) and Texas Medical Board Rules related to acupuncturists in Chapter 183 (found at Board Rules) may also be helpful to applicants preparing for the exam.

Exam Administration and Fee

The JP exam is administered by Pearson VUE at locations throughout the United States.  PearsonVUE may be contacted at or at 888-300-6228.  The examination fee is $61.00, payable directly to PearsonVUE.
